Musiyo (https://musiyo.com) is a playlist discovery website. We curate Hindi, Bollywood, and indie playlists and help visitors open them on Spotify, YouTube, and YouTube Music. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
Musiyo does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or payment details to browse the site.
We may collect:
- Standard server and security logs, such as IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you visit.
- Anonymous analytics events, including page views, sessions, unique visitors, unique devices, outbound playlist clicks, and shares.
- An anonymous visitor identifier stored in your browser so we can count unique page views and visitors.
- A short-lived session identifier stored in your browser so we can count visits.
- Local settings you choose, such as dismissing the home-screen install prompt.
Analytics and advertising pixels
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which playlists and pages people find useful. Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers according to its own policies.
We use a Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure playlist interest and outbound listening intent. The pixel records PageView, ViewPlaylist, SpotifyClick, YouTubeClick, YouTubeMusicClick, and SharePlaylist. SpotifyClick is the primary paid-media event. Meta can measure a click to Spotify. It cannot see whether someone then saves the playlist inside Spotify.
These tools help us see which playlists get opened, not to sell your personal information. You can use browser controls, tracking-protection settings, or industry opt-out tools to limit this collection.
Spotify, YouTube, and other third parties
Playlist players and "Listen" or "Watch" buttons send you to Spotify, YouTube, or YouTube Music. Those services have their own privacy policies. If you tap to load an embed, the third party may set cookies or collect viewing data.
Musiyo embeds are lazy-loaded. Until you choose to load a player, we do not load Spotify or YouTube embed scripts on that widget.
Cookies and local storage
Musiyo itself does not use session cookies for login, because there is no login. We do use:
- Local storage for an anonymous visitor ID used by the page-view counter and first-party analytics.
- Session storage for an anonymous session ID used to count visits.
- Local storage to remember if you dismissed the install-app prompt.
- A lightweight service worker that can cache pages and static files for faster repeat visits.
- Cookies or identifiers set by Google, Meta, Spotify, or YouTube if those services load.
Page-view counter
Some pages show how often they have been viewed. The counter stores an anonymous identifier on your device and a page path on our server. First-party analytics also stores page path, event type, and anonymous session, visitor, and device identifiers so we can review playlist performance. These records are not used to identify you as a person.
How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To understand which playlists, guides, and pages are useful.
- To measure Spotify and YouTube outbound clicks, including SpotifyClick as the primary paid-media event.
- To remember simple preferences, such as hiding the install prompt.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use the site to run a user account system or a mailing list signup.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of Google Analytics and Meta. Anonymous view-counter and first-party analytics records are kept to show cumulative page views and conversion trends.
Children
Musiyo is a general-audience music discovery site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it where we can.
Your choices
- Use your browser to block or delete cookies and local storage.
- Use tracking-protection or private-browsing features.
- Decline the install-app prompt. Spotify playlist links remain available either way.
- Disable service workers in your browser if you do not want offline caching.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site or our tools change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of Musiyo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
